As a larger percentage of households acquire HDTVs, and with the recent demise of HD-DVD allowing Blu-ray to be crowned the successor to regular DVDs, along with the many Internet High Definition delivery methods coming online, even the casual movie viewer is starting to take an interest in news within the HD realm.
Because HD is a topic that interests me greatly as an independent filmmaker and a general technology enthusiast, I haven't been able to resist making a few mentions of the most significant HD and movie technology news items on the entrance page here at Savage Japan Movie Reviews. This archive page is where I will begin saving those brief news items.
For those who want a quick overview of the state of the high definition market, general home theater news of interest, along with helpful notes on the newer (and cheaper) equipment as it is announced and released, this will be an efficient place to find it. Only the most essential news items in a very brief form will be gathered here.
Regrettably, with Japanese films being such a small niche in the movie universe, there may be a bit of a wait for large numbers of HD Blu-ray Japanese film releases to start showing up for sale and at Netflix & Blockbuster, but this page will keep you up to date on those releases as they occur.
